GENERAL INFORMATION

The Verizon Wireless Corporate Classic continues the tradition of hosting New Jersey's premier corporate fitness event on a weekday summer evening in downtown Morristown. It is designed primarily as an opportunity for co-workers coming from the workplace to enjoy an evening of fun and fitness in a spirit of camaraderie with their fellow employees by participating as a member of their company's corporate running team.

This year's event will be held Thursday evening, July 15, at 7:30PM.

How to Register
Companies may enter an unlimited number of participants, all of whom will be individually timed and scored. The top 3 male finishers from each company team will be automatically combined to score as that company's Men's team.  The top 3 female finishers from each company team will be automatically combined to score as that company's Women's team. Only full-time employees of the company may be entered on a company team.

Individual Registration
Family members and friends may participate as well as company employees. However, these non-employee individuals must use the separate INDIVIDUAL ENTRY registration option. They may not be included on any company team roster.

Company Team Captain's Role
Each company must be represented by a Company Team Captain. The Company Team Captain is responsible for:

• creating the company team
• advertising the opportunity within the company
• recruiting participants company-wide
• informing fellow employees how to use the online registration system to join the company team
• using the company team email function to send messages to your team members
• coordinating payment for the team's entry
• finalizing the team roster well before the registration deadline
• receiving and properly distributing the company team's bib numbers

• Individual company team members may pay by credit card as they register online
• A company captain may pay for the entire team by credit card when finalizing the entry, or submit a company check or money order for the entire team.

• Use the online INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION system and pay by credit card
  OR
• Register in person at the Morristown Running Company (31 South St., Morristown, NJ; phone 973-401-1300 for store hours) and pay by check or cash

Entry Fee Schedule

         (NOTE: the fee schedule below is subject to the event's participant capacity limit of 4,500. This limit may be reached at any time.

         If and when this limit is reached, all entries will close regardless of the below schedule.)

• $27.00 per participant for entries received by Monday, July 12, 2010, at 7:00PM
• $30.00 per participant for entries received on July 13 and July 14 (in person only at the Morristown Running Company, 31 South St., Morristown, NJ 07960; check for store hours: 973-401-1300)
• $32.00 per participant for entries received on race day (at race site only, from Noon to 6:00PM)
• All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable

• All Company Team and Individual online registration closes Monday, July 12, 2010, at 7:00PM
• Individual paper entries ($30 fee) will be accepted in person only at the Morristown Running Company, 31 South St., Morristown, NJ (check for store hours: 973-401-1300) on Tuesday July 13 and Wednesday July 14, ONLY IF THE RACE HAS NOT YET REACHED CAPACITY.  If the race has reached capacity, individual paper entries will be closed.
• Race-day entries ($32 fee) will be accepted at the race site ONLY IF THE RACE HAS NOT YET REACHED CAPACITY, from Noon to 6:00PM.  If the race has reached capacity by race day, no race-day entries will be accepted.

• All participants must wear their assigned bib #, uncut and unfolded, on the front of their torso during the event
• Company Team Race packets with all employee bib #'s and instructions will be available for pickup during the week preceding the event at the Morristown Running Company, 31 South St., Morristown, NJ 07960. Packet pickup schedule will be announced.
• All Individuals who are not participating as a member of a company team must pick up their bib # at the event site on race day, between Noon and 7:00PM

• Corporate Company Teams: Only full-time employees of the company are eligible to be team members.
• Part-time employees or non-employees must enter as Individuals
• In order to be included in the final results, all participants must complete the full course under their own power.
• Roller skates, skateboards, skis, and cycles are NOT PERMITTED
• Animals (other than guide dogs for the blind) are NOT PERMITTED
• Baby Joggers are permitted, but they must line up at the back of the field at the Start

• Companies may enter as many team members as they wish. A company must enter a minimum of 3 men or 3 women in order to be included in the Corporate Team scoring. Company teams will be scored in finishing order, utilizing their official race times, in both the Men's and Women's team scoring divisions.
• Complete results for all individuals (including company team members and non-team individuals) will be posted on our website after the event
• Complete results for all company teams will also be posted on our website after the event

• The top 3 overall men and top 3 overall women finishers will receive distinctive awards
• The top 3 Corporate Men's teams and top 3 Corporate Women's teams will receive distinctive awards
• There will be no other scoring or awards in the Verizon Wireless Corporate Classic. The emphasis of the event is on group camaraderie, health, enjoyment, and fitness

1. The company team competition is open only to business entities which are represented by their employees as scoring company team members. All other types of membership organizations (e.g., social clubs, athletic clubs, etc.) may not enter the company team competition. However, their members may participate as non-scoring individuals in the race.
2. Participants must be actively employed, by the company they are representing.
3. Each participant must complete a Runner Entry Form in order to be officially entered and eligible to participate. Participants certify that they are medically fit to participate. Paper forms must contain original signatures.
4. There is no limit to the number of employee participants per company.
5. All participants must wear their assigned race numbers clearly visible on the front of the torso during the race. Race numbers must be displayed in full view, and may not be folded or cut in any way.
6. Walkers may not start in front of any runners and may not start the race early. Walkers must complete the full 5k course route and may not take optional or shortened routes.
7. All team members must participate unaided. Roller skates, skateboards, rollerblades, roller skis, bicycles, and animals are strictly prohibited anywhere along the course. Their use will result in disqualification of the individual participant and may result in team disqualification.  Baby joggers are permitted, but they must line up at the back of the field at the start.
8. The first 3 male participants from each company to cross the finish line after running the full 5k course will be automatically scored for that company's men's team. The first 3 female participants from each company to cross the finish line after running the full 5k course will be automatically socred for tha company's women's team.
9. The Race Directors reserve the right to delay, postpone, cancel, or not officially time the race in the event of adverse weather conditions. The determination of what constitutes adverse weather conditions is reserved solely to the Race's Executive Board. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable even in the case of event cancellation.
